Business Delegation & Forum to South Africa (Johannesburg and Cape Town) 13 & 15 September 2016
The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) and the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry & Tourism jointly organised a business delegation and Forum in South Africa during the period of 11-18 September 2016, aimed at the further promotion of business relations between the business communities of Cyprus and South Africa.
This was the first time that a business mission to South Africa was organised by CCCI. Totalserve, as a group with a 12 year presence in South Africa and a founding member of the Cyprus South African Business Association (CYSABA), was one of the delegates as well as one of the panelists of the events. Totalserve was represented by Mr Peter G. Economides and the Head of Totalserve’s South African Operations, Mr Chris Smilas. Also in attendance and offering their much appreciated and required support, were Ms Lea Galanakis and Ms Nadia Galatis of Totalserve’s Johannesburg and Cape Town Offices respectively. Mr. Economides was a panelist in the “Headquartering & Using Cyprus as a Base to the EU” panel discussion, and provided real life examples of well known South African companies using Cyprus companies not only for investments into Cyprus but also for investments into Europe and beyond.
The events were very well attended by both Cypriot delegates as well as South African businesses. This was the first official mission to South Africa which we believe has been very successful in promoting Cyprus as well as introducing South Africa to the Cyprus business delegates.
